New Customised Enclosure for TIGO SF Coordinate Measuring Machine
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Enhances Shop-Floor CMM with TIBOX Ultra-Protective Cell14 April 2016
Designed specifically to protect the machine but preserve the accessibility afforded by the unique cantilever design of the TIGO SF, TIBOX provides a complete enclosure without significantly increasing the machine footprint. Transparent panels allow visual checks from every direction, while openings on three sides give users full access to the measurement volume. Integrated lighting benefits operators working in dark or changeable light conditions and a Signal Tower option offers long-distance machine status monitoring.
The TIBOX enclosure also allows easy access to the machine for both routine and more involved maintenance operations. It is fully-compatible with the TIGO SF’s integrated monitor and keyboard mountings, while the jogbox is located in an handy position so that the machine ergonomics and user interaction are unchanged by the additional level of protection.
“The TIGO SF’s distinctive design makes it well suited to inspecting small to medium parts on the shop-floor,” said Anna Maria Izzi, Product Manager at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. “In creating TIBOX, we focused on increasing protection for the TIGO SF without losing the benefits of this design. Although the machine itself is more than robust enough for regular shop-floor conditions, TIBOX is a great option for users working in very extreme environments, those looking to extend their regular maintenance windows, or for companies whose standard operating procedures demand that they use an enclosure.”
The TIBOX is available to order worldwide from today as an option with all new orders of TIGO SF, or as a retrofit system for installed units. More information is available through local Hexagon commercial operations and dealers.
