Hexagon displays latest innovations driving smarter manufacturing at EMO 2019
New machine tool measurement technologies, software and CMM laser scanners are among the latest digital solutions on the Hexagon stand that help manufacturers increase productivity22 August 2019
Among the innovations on show for the first-time will be Hexagon’s advancements in digital machine tool measurement. There will also be an opportunity to explore the benefit of using automated scanning technologies with coordinate measuring machines. And a virtual reality display will let visitors discover how different elements of smart technology come together to create smarter manufacturing environments.
Marcel Brand, Senior Director Global Marketing & Communications at Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, says: “EMO 2019 is where manufacturers in the metalworking industry come to discover the innovations that will shape and deliver Industry 4.0. At the Hexagon stand we’ll be showing a range of groundbreaking solutions that address some of the core challenges of machine tool measurement. Visitors will be able to see how future-facing digital technologies integrate with their existing assets to provide greater productivity and smarter production, as well as a long-term return on investment.”
In addition to discovering machine tool measurement innovations, visitors to the Hexagon stand in Hall 6 will see the Leitz Reference CMM using non-contact, single line precision scanning for the rapid, automated measurement of gears. In addition to being faster and more accurate than alternative methods, the process captures large amounts of relevant data that informs manufacturers’ immediate and future decisions. And Hexagon’s latest 3D laser scanner for the new generation of Absolute Arm portable measuring arm systems will collect extremely high-density point-cloud data at high speeds and high accuracy. Reflecting the growing importance of connected software systems in increasingly automated and data-driven factories, Hexagon will display NC DataGuide, which serves as the basis for intelligently networked production systems. There will also be an opportunity to discover Hexagon’s new asset management solution, which provides real-time performance data about a company’s CMMs in a centralised, user-friendly dashboard, whether the measurement equipment is on a single site or in multiple factories around the world.
Hexagon’s Production Software portfolio will also be demonstrated on a dedicated stand in Hall 9 to showcase the strengths of its industry-leading CAD/CAM and CNC simulation software products. Presentations will include the virtual reality display of the reverse engineering and production of a motorcycle saddle.
Hexagon will be in Halls 6 and 9 of EMO 2019 between 16 and 21 September.
