Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Project Manager for our North Kingstown, Rhode Island location.

Description: 
The Project Manager works with Commercial Operations, Product Management, and Customers to support and reply to requests for Custom Solutions for new and legacy products.  This requires interaction with other departments, sister factories, and external vendors as needed to properly quote a solution.  The proposal includes product type and description, specifications, price, cost, and replies to customer specification packets.  During order execution, the Project Manager will ensure that the bill of material (BOM) is configured to fulfill the order.  The BOM will be passed to Customer Order Service (COS) for order entry.  The Project Manager will perform the Project Management function following the concepts and techniques defined in the Project Manager’s Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), leading and directing cross-functional teams focused on project delivery.


Responsibilities:  
  • Provide special customer quotations based upon requests submitted by Sales.  This includes any Custom Metrological Solution or Custom Legacy Product that can be produced by Hexagon at an acceptable market price.
  • Coordinate, Track, and Manage assigned requests independently from submittal to “on-time” completion.
  • Analyze, disseminate, and respond to customer submitted specification packets with respect to Hexagon capabilities.  This requires the ability to identify Legal, Engineering, and Financial issues for proper commercial responses.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales to provide accurate, concise, and professional proposals on-time.
  • Create and maintain cost sheets for proper margin analysis
  • Work with COS, Engineering, Purchasing, and any other departmental disciplines as required to effectively move work through the local factory or one of Hexagon’s sister factories to achieve “on-time” delivery of Custom and Legacy Product.
  • Work with other Project Managers to build, and to maintain, a quotation database to be able to shorten future quote lead times.
  • Work and interact effectively with personnel from Hexagon Metrology Sister Factories around the world.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, presentations, and other documentation relevant to quotations and develop best practices around quote execution and management.
  • Manage and track customer invoices associated with project milestones.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of a Custom Solutions Product Portfolio.
  • With assistance from Engineering, Product Management, Technical Specialist, and sister factories, create accurate BOMs to be entered into LX by COS for Custom Solutions and Legacy product orders.
  • Enhance the departmental and organizational reputation by accepting ownership of difficult requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Meets financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Strives to maintain the progress and mutual interaction and tasks of various parties in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, and restricts costs.
  • Manages project teams to reduce project risk, maintain project schedules & project budget, and reduce project conflicts
Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technical Field
  • PMP Certification preferred but not required
  • Project Management Experience & Management Proficiency
  • Process Improvement Experience
  • Ability to remain organized while managing and prioritizing multiple quotations and projects
  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communications Skills
  • General Knowledge of Metrology
  • Familiar with General Financial Practices
  • LX ERP System Inquires
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, MS Project or equivalent
  • Self-Development Skills
  • Performance Management Skills
