HxGN SFx | Asset Management: FAQs

HxGN SFx | Asset Management includes two components: a cloud application and a client application called SFx Connector. You install SFx Connector on the computer of each asset you want to monitor. SFx Connector then sends data about your asset’s status, performance, environment and health to your SFx account. You can sign into your SFx account from anywhere to view the data. In the case of laser trackers, the asset can continue to send data directly to your SFx account after it is first connected with SFx Connector.

An ‘asset’ is a single measurement system and the various components that make it work as a complete system. For example, a CMM including the controller, the measurement software and sensors is considered one asset, as is a laser tracker including its targets, reflectors, probes, etc.

Yes, if PULSE is installed on your CMM you can see all the information from the sensors in configurable graphs. You can also get immediate notifications about the conditions monitored by PULSE.

Primarily asset performance data, such as machine status, program status, controller messages and sensor data. It is also possible to transfer dimensional data, such as deviation values, via PC-DMIS. This requires opt-in and is turned off by default.

HxGN SFx | Asset Management offers two packages, the premium PRO package and the free Lite package. For more information visit Plans and Pricing.

You can have up to 200 user accounts with the PRO package and up to 50 user accounts with the Lite package.

If an icon is grey, it means this component has lost its connection to your SFx account. If all icons belonging to an asset are grey, it is likely the asset has lost its overall connection to your SFx account. You can restore the connection using the SFx Connector.

Notifications let you receive emails and mobile application push notifications about specific events that happen on, to, or around your asset. You can select the types of events you want to be notified about, such as routine errors, controller errors, geolocation changes or environment changes. You can also select the specific assets or programs you want these notifications to apply to.

Once you connect a laser tracker to your SFx account, you can also easily link a GPS tag to that laser tracker within your SFx account. Instructions can be found in the Quick Setup Guide for laser trackers, which is available in the Downloads area of the software. Compatible GPS tags are available from the online shop. 

For power-saving reasons, the system either uses cellular triangulation or WiFi location. However the system is not designed for indoor positioning.

Admin rights are required only during installation of SFx Connector on the computer. After installation, normal user rights will be sufficient to run the system
