Easy-to-use and cost-effective optical coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
Captura CMMs use vision sensors, laser sensors and chromatic confocal sensors, making them ideal for manufacturers working with very small or fragile parts and materials that cannot be measured with touch probes, particularly in the electronics sector.
Designed to provide a very attractive price-to-performance ratio for the entry-level market, the basic machine is supplied with a vision sensor, which can be supplemented by additional sensors. The dynamic machine concept offers high positioning accuracy, fast measuring point acquisition, and high-performance vision capturing.
Captura CMMs run the Metus measurement software, a Hexagon-developed simplified software package for non-contact multisensor measurement. Metus has its roots in Hexagon’s flagship PC-DMIS measurement software and delivers the highest standard of precision measurement in an easy-to-use software package.

Captura is an optical CMM that is both easy-to-use and robust enough for the shop floor. It combines a floor-standing CMM of proven XY cross-table design, a machine base and fixed column made of granite and an integral base frame. Precision mechanical linear guides on all axes add to its robustness, making it suitable for use in production.
Wide range of optical sensors for non-contact measurement
Captura is delivered with a vision sensor with a high-resolution CCD colour camera and a programmable 6.5x motorised zoom lens. It comes with variable illumination: Parallel LED back light, six-ring and eight-segment LED ring light for high contrast illumination of complex surfaces and edges. There is also a range of optional 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1.5x, 2x replacement lenses available, as well as 0.5x, 0.67x, 2.0x adapter tubes, a coaxial LED top light, and laser point and laser line triangulation sensors for the high-speed distance and profile measurements of very small parts. Further optional enhancements include chromatic confocal displacement sensors for scanning any material and surface types, for thickness measurement of transparent objects and capturing the topology of microstructures.

Captura is equipped with Metus measurement software, which has been tailored to provide a user-friendly interface and flexible operation modes for non-contact multisensor measurement.
