Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, a division of Hexagon Metrology, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Summer Intern in our North Kingstown, RI location. Our interns play an integral role in the success of Hexagon Metrology and gain comprehensive insight into the exciting world of Metrology.

Description: 

The Electrical Engineering Intern works closely with Engineers on projects suitable for skill level. This would include tasks such as prototype building, part sourcing, simple circuit design, and test execution. The Intern will be expected to have a level of independence so that tasks may be assigned, and limited oversight is necessary.   

Responsibilities:   

  • Run controller test on machines  
  • Order parts for prototype hardware  
  • Update controller software and firmware  
  • Update controller hardware  
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems as appropriate for skill level  
  • Execute low level circuit design and CAD appropriate for skill level  
  • Perform other technician tasks related to electrical engineering   

Qualifications:   

  • Must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or other technical degree program and in good academic standing  
  • Must be comfortable speaking/presenting in front of small groups  
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week, during the summer break.
