Product Owner SFx

Objective of the role:

Product Owner is responsible for delivering global support to SFx customers, geographies & commercial operations. Also providing feedback from the market to improve the future versions of the products. This is mainly a technical role with a strong emphasis on outreach across the Hexagon organization and engaging with strategic customers directly as part of sales campaigns. The individual will work with the sales, presales, and support teams in our various geographies to build the knowledge and competencies required to effectively sell and support these products. Further, the individual will be directly involved in certain identified sales campaigns where beneficial to enable market entry in a geography and/or win a significant/strategic opportunity. This role is part of the Product Management team and therefore the individual is responsible for helping to shape the future of our SFx offerings by delivering meaningful insights and feedback gained from field and customer interaction. The person in this role may be called on to participate in the software development lifecycle by creating and managing a backlog of development projects for a product area.

Main responsibilities:
  • Be the SFx Product Owner, both internally and externally globally.
  • Build the sales and technical competencies and knowledge of the various go-to-market teams to enable effective selling and support activity in the region.
  • Participate in sales and marketing activities (sales calls, customer visits, events, tradeshows, webinars, etc.) as the technically competent product expert providing demonstrations and presentations as required.
  • Support planning and execution of new product launch activities and marketing initiatives.
  • Identify market requirements on a regional and global basis for current and future products by conducting competitive analysis, market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers, and interfacing with the regional commercial organisations.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future products and product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
  • Communicate customers' feedback to the Development, Sales, Marketing, Service and Support teams to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Interface with other organisational stakeholders, including Commercial Operations, Development and Marketing. Ensure adequate levels of communication with all stakeholders
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Person specification:
  • BSc (hons) degree
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in technical sales & support.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the use of statistics and data analytics in manufacturing quality control activities.
  • Knowledge in the use of cloud infrastructure for managing factory assets.
  • Advanced written and excellent time management and presentation skills – mandatory
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems
  • A self-starter, able to take initiative, manage work assignments with limited supervision, and be able to make good decisions with information provided.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for technology sharing within your area of responsibility and across all Hexagon products.
  • Prior experience working in a matrixed global organisation.
  • Team player: supports teammates and colleagues in a collaborative fashion.
  • Strong organisational skills.
Organisational relationships:
This role reports to Head of Product Management SFx and works closely with the regional sales and technical leaders on a daily basis to develop the market and grow the sales of the SFx products.
