Go Red Goes Big at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligenceby Andrew Scarella on March 3, 2016 From Corporate Social Responsibility
February 5th 2016 was National Wear Red day to raise awareness for heart disease, which claims the lives of 432,000 women each year. In addition to wearing red, Susan Booth & Elissa Lombardo in the North Kingstown location held a breakfast with plenty of heart-healthy options, as well as a raffle to raise money for the American Heart Association. Sarah white & Amy Gedeon at the Wixom, Michigan Solution Center hosted a chili cook-off, won by Gary Kittle from the ROMER Calibration Lab. And Chelsea Felton at our Lake Forest Solution Center hosted a heart-healthy salad bar lunch to bring awareness to heart disease.

Between all three locations, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence was able to raise over $950 for the American Heart Association! The day had personal significance for Elissa Lombardo, a service coordinator here in the northeast. Elisa has championed this cause for many years and has coordinated the participation from our field offices.
"Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women in this country. Many women ignore the signs and I, myself am a high-risk candidate. High blood pressure for over 20 years, I have been monitored and medicated with an enlarged heart. I’m scared I won’t see my children graduate or married. Not fair to them or to me, I want more programs and awareness for all women and medication affordable to prevent any further damage from this controllable disease. We lost a GREAT employee here years ago, Peter Edge which sparked my movement to GO RED."
