 Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence, division is seeking a Director of Product Management

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) is the number one provider of CAM software worldwide with leading brands including ESPRIT, EDGECAM, VISI and WORKNC. Additional Production Software products beyond CAM complete a comprehensive portfolio, strongly complementing our leading position in Metrology worldwide, making MI recognized experts in the domain of discrete manufacturing.

The Director Product Management, Production Software will be the key steward of our extensive portfolio working closely with product development, product marketing, technical support, and globally with our business development and sales teams. The successful candidate will have an exceptional history of developing and implementing software product strategies that have consistently exceeded planned objectives.
This position will report directly to the General Manager, Production Software, with the flexibility of being based at any one of the major offices of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence in North America or Europe. Consideration may also be given to candidates in other locations worldwide.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead our Production Software Product Management team in pursuit of their objectives while maintaining a high-level of employee satisfaction. Coach and develop the individuals to help maximize their performance, guide their career development, and develop their effectiveness and respect throughout the organization
  • Lean Portfolio Management – Lead the product management team in defining and maintaining a portfolio of software products to maximize customer value and therefore earnings, revenue, and market share growth
  • Product Management Role – Guide our product managers in their effort to define and support the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products that meet customer needs over the product-market lifecycle
  • Stakeholder Relationships – Develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders around the company and work closely with marketing and sales teams, visiting customers globally to understand customer requirements and promote the production software products
  • Market and Competitor Analysis - Maintain an awareness of the market, competitors, and customers for our software products, and provide analysis to guide product management decisions
  • Business Development - Drive development, adoption and revenue of our product(s) including interfacing with partners, suppliers, resellers, and customers. This may include contributing to “lighthouse” sales activities, customer facing presentation, technical consulting, and business negotiations 
  • Agile Framework - Develop a comprehensive understanding of Agility as it relates to Product Management putting it into practice while also maintaining a good awareness of other frameworks and implications for our business
  • Willingness to travel internationally at least 25%
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • A master’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role managing multiple software products in B2B driving significant innovation and growth
  • A minimum of 5 years’ discrete manufacturing domain experience
  • A deep understanding of software product management principles, processes, and tool
  • First-hand experience managing software portfolios and building customer-value focused roadmaps
  • Experience working across cultures in a global organization and with customers globally
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence others in a matrix organization
  • Ability to provide exceptional judgment in complex situations
  • Outstanding people skills across cultures
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
  • A mission-driven, collaborator approach; and a desire to make an impact and difference
