Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Shares Winning Approach to Vehicle Optimisation

Find out how the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team optimises F1 vehicle design and production using Hexagon’s hardware and software

03 June 2019
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division will welcome Aston Martin Red Bull Racing to Waalre on June 13 to share how its technology partnership with Hexagon helps it keep winning championships.

Formula 1 cars are built to some of the world’s very highest quality standards. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Guy Richards will share with manufacturers from different industries how his company uses Hexagon’s technology to improve design and processes to repeatedly achieve winning results. Hexagon has been supporting the team for over a decade, as it completes as many as 30 000 design changes in a season in the pursuit of optimal vehicle quality.

Jan Klingen, Managing Director Hexagon Benelux says: “F1 races are won and lost in just a few thousands of a second. When it comes to measurement tolerance that equates to a few microns. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s pursuit of innovation, accelerated development and agility means it consistently attains levels of vehicle quality excellence that win championships year after year. Its approach makes it a leader in smart, flexible manufacturing and we are proud to host Guy Richards as a speaker at our customer event.”

Attendees at the event will also have the opportunity to view the first ever laser tracker with a direct scan function and discover how Hexagon’s hardware and software solutions enable process optimisation, reverse engineering and 3D printing apply to different applications.

The event will take place in Waalre between 14:00 CET and 18:00 CET on Thursday 13 June and those interested in attending can register online.
