Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has announced plans to demonstrate how its range of hardware and software solutions embed quality throughout the product lifecycle at the JEC World 2018 composites show in Paris this March. The manufacturing intelligence solutions specialist will showcase the design through to the ultimate production of a kitefoil manufactured by KETOS.
Billed as the leading international composites show, JEC World attracts tens of thousands of composite industry professionals every year, offering networking and business opportunities, demonstrations of innovative technology and industry insights to advance their operations. Visitors to Hexagon’s booth will be assisted by an interactive map to help them understand how the demonstrated technologies enhance the entire product lifecycle, from improving efficiencies in the design, production and quality stages of manufacturing to increasing actionable analysis throughout service life.
Visitors to the stand will see a range of Hexagon solutions in action, including its Composition Inspection System, the first ever system dedicated to composite part applications, comprising a HP-C-V3D Apodius Vision Sensor with ROMER Absolute Arm and Apodius Explorer 3D software. In addition, new systems specifically designed for online inspection in composites production will be demonstrated. New developments in automated multisensor-based quality assurance now enable extensive quality inspection of raw material, semi-finished textiles, binder application, preforms, cured and final parts including a dedicated robot-based high accuracy inspection system for feature extraction.
“Affordability of materials, predictability of process and quality assurance are among the major challenges facing composite materials manufacturers. KETOS provides an excellent example of how Hexagon solutions can overcome these challenges by bringing greater control, insight and efficiency to the product lifecycle,” says Mustapha El-Bouchouafi, General Manager of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence France. “The illustrious JEC World event is a great opportunity for meeting other composite professionals to discuss their needs and how our technologies can provide opportunities for greater productivity.”
The booth will also showcase a range of operation-enhancing solutions from Hexagon-owned specialists in design and engineering and production. Vero Software will show WorkNC Robot Module CAD/CAM software for CNC machining, along with new developments for the VISI Reverse-Engineering module, and MSC Software will demonstrate Digimat, an advanced material simulation software that bridges the gap between the manufacturing and design worlds, for continuous connection and feedback between real and digital models.
JEC World 2018 takes place 6-8 March at Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence will be located on booth D37 in Hall 6.
