Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Asia Pacific recently announced its participation as a member of the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) in Singapore. The Membership Agreement was signed by Mr. Lim Boon Choon, President of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Asia Pacific, and Dr. David Low, Chief Executive Officer of ARTC.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lim Boon Choon said, “ARTC is an important institution in Singapore that unites the research of universities and industries. It is also a great way to link up with other companies in Singapore to find technical solutions to their manufacturing challenges. I am very happy to be accepted as a member of ARTC and I look forward to more partnerships with ARTC and their members in their future projects.”
He added, “ARTC’s mission is to help companies operating in Singapore to improve their capabilities. Hexagon has many solutions that can benefit their members. ARTC has many talented individuals who can complement our own engineers in developing new solutions relevant to companies in Singapore. Through this collaboration, we hope to drive the application of technology in operational performance, work efficiency and business growth.”
Mr. David Low, CEO, ARTC said, “At ARTC, we are very excited with Hexagon’s membership. Hexagon is a forward looking company with manufacturing intelligence focus, coupled with an extensive range of metrology capabilities. ARTC will be applying Hexagon’s Metrology Management System (MMS) and other advanced solutions in our facility, which will scale up ARTC’s data management and analysis. I am looking forward to build our partnership from strength to strength.”
A ‘Factory of the Future’ workshop was also organised by ARTC, inviting companies and members to share ideas on improving productivity within their operations. This initiative is part of ARTC’s ongoing effort to invest in research and development while working with established partners to leverage technology to improve reliability and service quality. Like-minded companies come together at such workshops to discuss industry requirements, develop new opportunities and leverage shared resources while augmenting the development of remanufacturing capabilities and speeding up business growth.
Mr. Lawrence Wong, Singapore’s Minister for National Development, visited the centre and Hexagon had the opportunity to show its Manufacturing Management Suite (MMS) solution and demonstrated how this software platform can be used to manage quality in manufacturing processes.
