Manufacturing Intelligence Track Launches at HxGN LIVE 2016

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Explores the Shape of Progress in Anaheim Event Keynote

14 June 2016
The Manufacturing Intelligence track at HxGN LIVE 2016 opened today with a packed programme of sessions and technology demonstrations, alongside the opening keynote from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence President Norbert Hanke.
Entitled ‘The Shape of Progress’, the keynote charted the evolution of the quality department through several engaging customer stories, before delving deeper into how metrology data can be used more effectively. Hanke revealed that the company sees new potential in applying data from production more widely across the product lifecycle, from design concept right through to service life and new product iterations. Also on stage were Tom Stewart and Michael Gallagher from Hexagon-owned Q-DAS and Forming Technologies Inc. respectively, who offered specialist insight on how these ideas will be realised.
HxGN LIVE is the largest event that shines a spotlight on Hexagon and its vast solutions portfolio. Centred around the theme ‘Great Stories Start Here’ and organised along five tracks – Geospatial, Geosystems, Manufacturing Intelligence, Process, Power & Marine and Safety & Infrastructure – the conference combines the strengths of Hexagon’s businesses to present an exciting lineup of must-see technologies, exclusive presentations, hands-on training, inspiring keynotes and networking with peers from around the world.
“HxGN LIVE is not only a fantastic event for our customers and partners to network and see the latest technologies; it also allows them the chance to help shape the future of the company,” said Norbert Hanke. “It’s our customers who have driven our progress to date and it’s a pleasure to welcome them to this great location in Anaheim.”
Other highlights for the Manufacturing Intelligence track included a session from former land speed record holder Richard Noble OBE, who told the story of his latest pioneering project BLOODHOUND SSC – the 1000 mph car. Continuing the speed theme, Doug Duchardt from Hendrick Motorsport spoke about how Hexagon technology helps his team design NASCAR race cars with speed and confidence.
HxGN LIVE 2016 runs from 13 to 16 June in Anaheim, California, with a live stream of keynotes and other informative sessions available on demand at For more information about HxGN LIVE, visit
