Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Sweden Celebrates the Opening of Service Centre for Laser Tracker Systems

New Gothenburg facility provides local maintenance, recertification and repair services to customers

25 April 2016
On 21 April 2016 David Brown, MD of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence in Sweden, cut the rope and declared the company’s new service centre open. Customers are now able to send their laser tracker systems to Hexagon’s premises in Gothenburg for maintenance, recertification and repairs.

“This is a significant and powerful development within Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Nordic, enabling us to now give the very highest local aftercare commitment to customers who have invested in our laser tracker technology,” says Brown.

The purpose built centre, with a controlled environment to support the high quality requirements, enables Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Sweden to offer a base for laser tracker customers in the Nordic region.

“We are delighted to be able to offer the highest quality of services to our customers in the local market,” says Kenneth Merlenius, Service Manager at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. “This enables us to offer our customers very short turnaround times.”

Alongside the opening, Hexagon invited customers to take part in a day of seminars and customer case studies, and get the latest news in the portable product line. The newest Leica Absolute Scanner LAS-20-8 with excellent performance for freeform surface inspection was demonstrated by Rodrigo Alfaia, EMEA Business Development Manager for Hexagon’s laser tracker systems.

Hexagon also took the opportunity to welcome recent acquisition AICON 3D Systems, a leading global provider of optical and portable non-contact 3D measuring systems for industrial manufacturing. “I am always impressed how much professionalism and passion for customer support with 3D Metrology solutions I find within Hexagon,” says Dr. Timo Kahlmann, Director Sales 3D Metrology at AICON 3D Systems. “I feel warmly welcomed!”
