Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Highlights Productivity at Control
Application-oriented booth proves a hit at international trade fair for quality assurance in Stuttgart27 April 2016
Featuring four application islands, the Hexagon stand shows the latest systems from its hardware and software portfolio working on functional applications common to major industrial manufacturing sectors: machinery and manufacturing, die and mould, positioning and assembly, and freeform manufacturing. Visitors will see Hexagon’s sensing, thinking and acting approach in action, and explore how new solutions are embedding quality data into the manufacturing process, enabling better decision making and actively improving efficiency.
“In the last 15 years, since we have been attending Control, Hexagon has transformed itself into an information technology company,” said Norbert Hanke, President and CEO of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. “We continue to move in this direction today, and it’s important we continue to create software that connects data touchpoints and interlinks our solutions. This will involve both internal development and further acquisitions.”
Also exhibiting at Control 2016 are several Hexagon-owned businesses, including Q-DAS and AICON 3D Systems. On the Q-DAS booth, the statistical process control company introduced the upcoming release of Hexagon’s Manufacturing Management Suite (MMS) platform, which provides a system for managing and using quality data around the factory. Meanwhile, AICON CEO Carl-Thomas Schneider observed that although his company is newly integrated into Hexagon, there are clear synergies with its business objectives:
“We are also developing down this ‘manufacturing intelligence’ route, creating complete solutions to drive productivity in manufacturing. There are already examples of sensing, thinking and acting in the AICON portfolio, and we are excited to continue to develop this as part of Hexagon.”
As well as a comprehensive selection of Hexagon metrology and manufacturing solutions, systems from AICON, Q-DAS and CAD/CAM specialist Vero Software are integrated into the Hexagon application islands to demonstrate this strategic direction and the combined potential of these solutions. Visitors to the Hexagon stand are also invited to step into the factory of the future with an immersive 360° virtual reality experience, and to see live TV being filmed with a selection of expert interviews throughout the day.
Control 2016 runs until 29 April at Landesmesse Stuttgart in Germany. To see how quality drives productivity, visit Hexagon on Stand 5302 in Hall 5.
