Job Title: System & Integration Engineer

Location: Renens, Switzerland


The System & Integration Engineer is in charge of integrating sensors, controllers and accessories developed on the coordinate measurement machines (CMM) of Hexagon MI (multi-site international group). He/she is therefore required to understand the different interfaces and modules (mechanical, electronic, SW, optical, etc.) and define the integration strategy including the various system-level tests. He/she will identify the issues in a systematic way to propose adapted solutions together with the rest of the team. He/she analyzes and characterizes the results obtained, and then summarizes the main findings in clear and concise reports. He/she is also required to understand and know the metrological and industrial standards of metrology sensory products. He/she also coordinates integration activities along with the team of test engineers.


Main Tasks :

  • Management of sensor integration within the HEXAGON group (multi-sites): definition of integration plan, coordination with test teams, preparation of deliverables and reporting
  • Continuous learning of key CMM components (top-down approach and attention to detail) and their interactions
  • Carrying out system-level tests (e.g. ISO) and writing applications on three-dimensional coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Performing root cause analysis together with the R&D team to propose appropriate short-term and long-term solutions
  • Statistical processing and analysis of test results and metrological evaluation of product integrations
  • Management of the integration laboratory hardware (CMM and accessories)
  • Interfacing with the project managers and the product line manager to satisfy all the stakeholders




  • Degree in microengineering, mechanical engineering, software, electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in integrating new products within the dimensional or precision industry.
  • Experience as an integration and system engineer in technical and complex fields including mechanics, electronics, software and possibly optics.
  • Knowledge of dimensional measurement specific standards (eg ISO 10360) or similar.
  • In-depth experience with three-dimensional measuring machines (CMM) and sensors, especially products from the Hexagon groupor equivalents
  • Proficient knowledge in the field of measurement / metrology, statistics, and experience plans.
  • Language skills: English is a must while French and German are assets
  • Excellent communication and coordination of multiple activities
  • Accuracy, negotiation skills and ability to plan
