Job Title: Test Engineer


Location: Renens, Switzerland




The Test Engineer is involved in the integration & test phases of a whole CMM system and its components currently under development by other Hexagon R&D entities. As a key member of the project team, he/she participates in the definition of system-level tests, writes the necessary measurement programs, and performs various system-level tests. He/she also identifies any problem in a systematic way. He/she analyzes the test results and writes clear and concise reports. In-depth knowledge of metrological and industrial standards is required along with the ability to understand the specifications of innovative products being homologated.



Main activities :


  • Participation in projects linked to the integration of sensors products within the HEXAGON group (multi-sites): estimated costs / delays, definition of requirements and acceptance criteria, reporting
  • Define and write test protocols and reports
  • Define required test hardware
  • Perform system, application, and metrology tests (e.g. ISO) on coordinate measurement machines (CMM).
  • Statistical processing and analysis of test results
  • Performing root cause analysis / troubleshooting and proposing appropriate short-term and long-term solutions together with the development team.



Requirements :

  • Degree in microengineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software or equivalent.
  • Experience in integrating new products within the dimensional or precision industry.
  • Experience as a test engineer in technical and complex fields including mechanics, electronics, software and possibly optics.
  • Knowledge of dimensional measurement specific standards (eg ISO 10360) or similar.
  • In-depth experience with three-dimensional measuring machines (CMM) and sensors, especially products from the Hexagon group or equivalents.
  • Good knowledge in the field of measurement / metrology, competitors, and ability to understand customer requests.
  • Involvement in innovative projects.
  • Language skills: English is a must, French and German are assets
  • Key personal skills: Accuracy, methodological, problem solving-oriented, flexible.
