Project Manager

Location: Nottingham

Short description:

The Project Manager will become part of a dynamic team consistently delivering innovative electro-mechanical drive solutions. He/She will be responsible for taking care of electro-mechanical drive solutions projects and become a project management functional process gatekeeper and ensure engineering service projects are delivered on time, on budget, customer satisfaction and with innovation.
This position is suitable for project managers at their early stage of career development, with some working experience in the following areas: 1) engineering services, or 2) product research/development functions, or 3) advanced technology development functions in automotive, electronics, energy, aerospace, or other industry OEMs or suppliers.

The Project Manager will report to the Head of Project Management.

Responsibilities:
  • Project management process gatekeeper
  • Project schedule ownership from creation through adherence and delivery
  • Project team management – derived from cross function & global team
  • Project fiscal control and supply chain management responsibility
  • Effective reporting to stakeholders and contract management
  • Bid management and active involvement of opportunity development with international team of business development and sales
Requirements:
  • BEng (2:1 or higher) engineering (mechanical/electrical/electronic/materials) or other relevant discipline; Further degree desirable
  • Interest in project management and knowledge of associated tools, methods and techniques, financial management and risk assessment
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an understanding of customer needs
  • Highly driven and self-motivated with an ability to deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload under minimum supervision
  • Good communicator, comfortable in front of customers and able to explain complex technical material in English
  • Knowledge of Japanese, Chinese, or Korean language is a plus
  • Good understanding of CAE/CAD/CAM software industry is a plus
