System Dynamics and Controls Engineer

System Dynamics and Controls Engineer will work on the development of methods for the simulation of dynamic systems that include and integrate mechanical, electrical, thermal and controls. He/She should be highly proficient in the use of 1D tools such as Simulink, Amesim etc., not just from a practitioner’s point of view but also from first principles. Responsibilities:
  • Development of methods for the simulation of dynamic systems that include and integrate mechanical, electrical, thermal and controls
  • Becoming a part of the Research & Innovation Team to develop new methods for simulating all sorts of engineering systems - electric vehicle drive systems, mechanical and electrical
  • Liaising closely with other teams across Hexagon, especially the software development teams for Romax Evolve, Adams, Easy5 & Romax Spectrum
  • Closely cooperating with Electrical, Electronics & Controls team in Applied Solutions – to put the newly developed methods into practice
  • Split between Theoretical and Applied part of work - 2/3 Theoretical and 1/3 Applied

Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics - ideally a PhD. or MA. With strong industrial experience
  • High proficiency in the use of 1D tools such as Simulink, Amesim etc. - not just from a practitioner’s point of view but also from first principles
  • Familiarity with FMI/FMU for data exchange and co-simulation
  • Strong Mathematics and Physics
  • Being keen to develop simulation approaches that surpass the current best-practice
