Applications Engineer - VISI

As a member of the Technical Support team, you will be expected to deliver high level technical product support to our customers in the UK & Ireland for the “VISI” CAD/CAM platform. 

You will be required to provide excellent customer service levels by delivering quality technical support, customer training and consultancy.

Provide technical assistance to the UK Sales team when requested and promote our products and services to create sales opportunities. Utilise technical and industry best practice and experience to help improve productivity and efficiency for all operations.

You will be expected to use good oral and written communication at all levels, providing analytical skills, initiative, and flexibility to provide acceptable resolutions to customer support issues.

You will be working from our Gloucester office. We can offer a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement, which consists of working 3 agreed days from the office and 2 days remote from home.

As an Application Engineer you will report to the UK VISI Support & Services Manager.

  • The delivery of training and consultancy using VISI and associated Hexagon Production Software (HPS) products, on site, at Hexagon offices and also remotely.
  • Provision of high quality, post-sales operational support to end users via our Helpdesk environment and Support Portal using good communication, analytical skills, initiative and flexibility to provide acceptable resolutions.
  • To assist with the development and maintenance of VISI & associated HPS products, support documents and media.
  • Be proactive in the approach to improving the delivery of services and support and to share these with the VISI team where appropriate
  • Identify sales opportunities and present them to the Sales Team
  • Mentor and assist other team members to improve product knowledge.
  • Travel to external locations to perform services primarily in the UK but also overseas.

Ensure all tasks carried out comply with company policies, procedures and systems, e.g. Data Protection, System Security, Information Systems Acceptable Use Policy and Health & Safety Policy

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and expectations.
  • Ability to organise and structure activities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in the Tool & Die manufacturing Sector, implementing CAD/CAM software products.
  • Customer facing and/or support experience.
  • Appropriate Degree / HND / HNC / BTEC qualification
  • High level of computer competency using Window operating systems and Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work independently but also contribute to and actively promote a teamwork environment
  • Ability to identify the potential of and learn to use new systems and applications as they become available
  • Display a professional attitude & appearance
  • Effective time management
  • Follow policies and procedures
  • Valid UK driving licence
