Commercial Services Manager

Technical Service and Support, Canada

 Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence, division is seeking a Commercial Services Manager for our Ontario, CA location.

The Commercial Services Manager has overall responsibility for the services business in Canada, consisting of field Service, Depot Service and Applications engineering.  He/She will manage a team of Engineers who perform tasks that include installation, maintenance, repair, training, software demos, contract programming and inspection.  Oversees the scheduling and internal training of Service and Applications Engineers.  Develops objectives, policies, and programs for the activities of direct reports for the accomplishment of overall company objectives.

Interfaces with customers to ensure they are well supported with hardware and application support.
Management and scheduling of personnel, customer requests, and employee development.
Creates, Reviews and/or approves, to authorized levels, bids, and proposals.
Monitors performance of Service and Applications Engineers, including appraisal processes.
Analyze and review pertinent data and report on the results.
Collaborate with services operations team to ensure efficient operations of the team and systems.
Monitor and evaluate the products of competitors
Insure the timely issuance of technical service reports, software bulletins and the proper dissemination of information
Responsible for definition, configuration, and placement of consignment machines in the regional office.
Coordinate with sales department in analyzing customer needs.
Develop and maintain an organization capable of achieving objectives through proper structuring, staffing, developing, appraising, counseling, and rewarding of personnel.
Continually review, assess, and evaluate services to better serve the needs and preferences of present and potential customers.
Provide the proper training of personnel on new products.
Oversee the preparation of detailed specifications for attachment to quotations, and/or for use in technical negotiation.
Provide customer solutions
Manage revenue initiatives
Control budget expenses, support organizational policies related to safety, environmental protection, housekeeping, etc. within area of responsibility.
Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity or improve the overall suitability and effectiveness of the management system, its processes, and products.

  • Solid background in Dimensional Metrology
  • 5 years of related management experience
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer skills
  • Thorough knowledge of company’s brands
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with 3-D Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and portable products
