Short description:
We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Application Engineer to work within the System Dynamics Centre of Excellence, supporting our major aerospace customers.

This role is primarily focused on l
eading the customer account planning cycle to ensure Rolls-Royce and other key customers’ technical needs and expectations are met. The successful candidate will lead technical solutions and support account growth.

Applicants should have a solid track record in delivering world class technical support and customer satisfaction, with an understanding of simulation software and engineering services.

Senior Aerospace Application Engineer reports to the Sales Enablement Director, System Dynamics.

Tasks in detail:
  • Ownership of technical support and engineering activities for defined customers.
  • Identifying business opportunities for software solutions for defined accounts.
  • Understanding how customers use our software, applying insight and gathering customer feedback to define and drive the Aerospace product related strategy.
  • Representing the customers’ needs and ensuring their voice is heard in internal process improvement related initiatives.
  • Be familiar with software product roadmaps; supporting Product Management with effective communication of new software capabilities to customers.
  • Working with Marketing, Innovation & Research and Product Management to plan and deliver events, ensuring the Aerospace System Dynamics message is consistent and appropriate.
  • Building relationships with (and a knowledge of) other Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Centres of Excellence to identify cross-selling potential with customers through demonstration of improved toolchains.
  • Developing and delivering customer presentations and coordinating software demonstrations.
  • Meeting customers, prospective customers, and partners to further the Aerospace System Dynamics network and grow the business.

Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a mixture of technical and commercial roles.
  • Electro / Mechanical Engineering degree, or comparative professional experience in a similar role.
  • Highly organised with excellent task and self-management skills with the ability to work with agility, flexibility and without close supervision.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and define solutions for customers.
  • Willingness to learn about and adapt to a fast-moving market and the latest technology trends.
  • Excellent project management and client liaison skills.
  • Availability to travel occasionally to meet customers – mostly within the UK.

Nice to have:
  • Strong knowledge of key industry stakeholders, industrial market, and related technology trends.
  • Knowledge of electric drivetrain development and simulation.
  • Experience in other industries such as renewable energy, robotics & automotive is beneficial.
