Strategic Alliances Director

The Strategic Alliances Director will be responsible for identifying and  building out strategic relationships for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s Design & Engineering (D&E) Business Unit, in alignment with the overall strategy for D&E. They will collaborate with the D&E leadership team and other functional leaders in product management, product development, and marketing (in both the D&E BU and corresponding functions in the partner company) to develop strong joint solutions, appropriate messaging, and sales enablement to drive opportunities and revenues. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in forming successful, strategic technology partnerships in computer aided engineering (CAD, FEA, CFD etc.) as well as experience working in a SaaS software environment. This role will report to the SVP Strategy & Business Development but will work cross-functionally with various teams.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify and establish key partnerships that will boost Hexagon D&Es’ market visibility, revenue growth, and profitability
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and other business units within Hexagon to deliver on the potential of various partnerships
  • Identify opportunities to build joint solutions with partners and taking ownership for building these out into GTM initiatives to develop pipeline and revenue
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and work with legal, partner operations and other teams to document and finalize partner agreements
  • Develop joint business plans with partners to define mutual goals and objectives, and monitoring and tracking progress against agreed metrics
  • Develop joint partner marketing plans in collaboration with marketing teams to drive mutual success
  • Effectively collaborate with the wider sales teams and business development teams to proactively accelerate revenue generation via partner relationships
  • Manage issues and internal/external conflicts and working to resolve and realign to ensure mutual success with partners
  • Support the D&E leadership team with strategic plan development, marketing and competitive intelligence, and assistance with M&A activities
  • Support varying types of partnerships, including but not limited to independent software vendors, cloud and infrastructure providers, and hardware/equipment manufacturers, research institutions, etc.

EDUCATION:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with a strong business & marketing background. MBA preferred. 

EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including
    • 5 years of simulation technologies-related experience
    • 5 years of business development, sales, and/or marketing
    • 3 years strategic alliances experience
  • Excellent understanding of the CAE market, including market landscape, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Experience working in a variety of industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment with diverse colleagues and partners
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster / maintain relationships across multiple departments
  • Cloud and SaaS experience strongly preferred
  • Extremely proactive with a strong bias for action
  • Ability to travel internationally and also to work effectively in a remote/hybrid setting with global matrix teams
  • Moderate experience with partner marketing approaches and tactics, including joint marketing program development
