Product Manager Smart Manufacturing

Job Profile

Plan and manage the development of Hexagon Smart Manufacturing (SmartM) platform and products. Lead and own all aspects of defining the product vision and development for engineering and manufacturing based on Industry 4.0 / digitization to support and fulfil customer business objectives. Compile and prioritize customer and market requirements, working closely with sales, strategy, business units, marketing and product development teams and manage product lifecycle to deliver products that ensure revenue and meet customer satisfaction goals.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Market Validation: Develop a deep understanding of the market trends, customer requirements, and competition, identify market opportunities, and build business cases that support investment decisions
  • Product Strategy: Maintain a clear and shared vision for platform and product, competitive positioning, target market segments, business unit inputs and product strategy, ultimately documented in the product roadmap
  • Product Definition: Define customer, industry and market requirements, product-specific requirements and backlog priorities, business unit requirements, product performance benchmarks, product value proposition, positioning, packaging, and pricing, and support the development of interface mock-ups and early prototypes to validate product ideas
  • Product Plan Execution: Lead the execution of the product plan collaborating internally with product design, product development, marketing, sales, business units, and support teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and go-to-market, and collaborating externally with customers to validate product concepts, gather customer feedback, and ensure product/market fit
  • Product Performance: Evaluate customer satisfaction, product market share, and report on product financial performance
  • Develop a good understanding of the Hexagon solution portfolio and develop new / innovative solutions for Smart Manufacturing, leveraging Hexagon group competencies
  • Keep up to date with IT / technology trends to ensure any new applicable technology, solution and use case is incorporated into solution development strategies
  • Build and sustain a collaborative working relation with counterparts in other business units, regions, and management stakeholders to encourage talent / idea / solution sharing
  • Support to grow the SmartM organization to enable successful implementations of new and existing SmartM solutions
  • Continuously enhance understanding of the competitive landscape of the target market; seize opportunities to adapt, change and respond with the business models
  • Evaluate strategic business propositions, potential partnerships / alliances and make recommendations to management concerning strategies to implement new business activities; translate the recommendation(s) into action

Education
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering
  • Strong understanding Industry 4.0 concepts, having worked on hardware-software integrations like shopfloor machine connectivity, SCADA / PLC programming, as well as engineering softwares like CAD and CAM
  • Established solution architecting and solution development credentials
Experience
  • Long-time experience in Industry 4.0 / Digital technology enabled products, solutions, and services in Automotive / Aerospace / Manufacturing Industry
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in performing application analysis, Industry 4.0 / Digital solution design and development
  • Plant IT experience in implementing enterprise and execution solutions such as ERP, SCM, MES, SCADA, Quality Management, CAD and CAM
  • Prior experience and success in solution architecting, software development processes and developing strategic roadmaps

  • Global travel and flexible workhours will be required
