Short description:
CloudOps Engineer will join a newly formed Global CloudOps Team, delivering cloud best practices and subject matter expertise to IT Support and internal companies that require guidance and support.

The role is ideally suited to someone with a desire to innovate with Cloud technologies and has experience in delivering IT services across multiple platforms (On-Prem/ Hybrid/ Cloud) and it’s aimed at 3rd-line/Senior Engineer who has been exposed to many technologies and worked with end-users directly.

Tasks in detail:

  • This role will initially involve empowering the global IT team with best practice, knowledgebase and processes to effectively deliver frequently requested cloud services such as IAAS, PAAS and SAAS.
  • Address escalated cloud issues from Global Infrastructure Team to support business units with specialist cloud requirements that require subject matter expertise.
  • Work with Cloud Director to build a cloud strategy and governance standard for Hexagon MI by using IAC, Blueprints, Landing Zones, Policies, templates, monitoring and alerts to maintain good cloud practice across the business.
  • Work with experts in Machine Learning, High Performance Compute, and Data Science to understand requirements, research and propose cloud technologies that address this. 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong confident communication skills are essential.
  • Basic analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Work with end user to capture technical requirements: (Data Centre VM/Cloud Services: IAAS)
  • Experience in setup and installation of new infrastructure in Physical/VMWare/Hyper-V/Cloud.
  • Exposure /Configuration of Azure DevOps and Git/SVN (Desirable).
  • Server Migration Experience
  • Set-up cloud services VM’s, App Services, Storage, RDS.
  • Experience maintaining high service levels in a high availability environment.
