Short description:

The position will be responsible for the Linux and Windows based IT network administration at our Office in Munich in close collaboration with further IT Specialists based at others sites in Europe.

This position is suited for an IT expert who brings in depth experience working with Linux systems and basic knowledge of Windows systems.

This role will report to the IT Director EMEA.

Tasks in more detail:
  • Management of our central IT infrastructure, incl. Linux and Windows network administration
  • Installation and administration of various software tools
  • Act as 1st and 2nd Level Helpdesk support to internal users
  • Patch Management, incl. surveillance of security standards
  • Serveradministration incl. updates and maintenance of local servers
  • Support internal users with Office 365 and VPN
  • User management under Linux and Windows
  • Contribution to various IT projects, mainly focusing on local setups in close cooperation with MSC IT Management Europe
  • Documentation and Administration, e.g. update of user handbook
  • Relevant educational background in IT system and network administration
  • Min. 3 years of professional work experience in Linux network administration
  • Working knowledge of LDPA, ZFS file system and MySQL data bases
  • Basic knowledge of Windows systems and willingness to learn and develop further in this field
  • Professional English language skills, which will be used on a daily basis
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following applications/systems:
    • Office 365 and VPN
    • SVN and intergration system Jenkins
    • Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
  • Confident German language skills for communicating in a professional environment would be considered an asset
